How to read the Yardcue Demand Index
What does an index of 100 mean?
100 represents the average market-interest level during the fixed historical reference period for that plant and market. Values above 100 indicate stronger interest relative to this baseline; values below 100 indicate weaker interest.
Why compare year over year?
Flower and plant interest is highly seasonal. The year-over-year figure compares the latest four weeks with the corresponding period one year earlier, helping you see beyond the normal seasonal cycle.
Can I compare different plants?
Compare the direction of change between plants, but not their index levels as market size. Each plant is normalized against its own historical baseline.
Important: YDI measures relative market interest rather than transaction volumes or purchase intent. Use it as one input alongside local sales, stock and supplier information.
